PCI cards don't fit case backplate

Hello,
I was reseating my PCI cards (graphics, wifi and sound card) in my asrock extreme4 z77. However when I came to refitting the cards I noticed that it took a great deal of force to get the holes in the cards to align with the holes on my Corsair Carbide 300r. The cards were too far out from the backplate of the case and forcing them into the holes in the case caused them to pop out of the PCI slot. This should not have been an issue as the cards aligned correctly before when I built the PC. Is this an issue with the case warping?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Shouldn't need to do anything with the motherboard, especially if it's the same as before and hasn't been moved. Is there any flex or give with the case? It may have just warped slightly like you said.

Are you sure you reseated it correctly? If it was perfectly fine before, there is no reason it wouldn't go back in unless you broke something. Did you switch motherboard, is that why you removed stuff? If so, make sure the motherboard is aligned properly.

Thanks for the reply, yeah the cards are reseated correctly, my motherboard is the same and stayed in the same position as before however this is an issue with all the cards so I don't think i have broken anything. I think I may needed to either raise or lower my motherboard though?

Yeah there is some but it requires considerable force, so much so that my wifi card pops out of the express slot when I screw it in
