Years ago, IBM used a modified form of ansi.sys called ansiibm.sys for DOS programs. Windows 64 bit cannot run DOS programs without some emulator like DOSBox. But DOSBox does not have a config.sys or config.nt file, so ansiibm.sys cannot be used. DOSBox does have an autoexec option, and so one can use ansi.exe created by Michael J. Mefford (and which can be found on the Web). But this is missing some of the control codes in ansiibm.sys. I'd like to get an executable version of ansiibm.sys, either ansiibm.exe or ansiibm.com, so that I can run som older DOS programs within 64 bit Windows. If you can do this, please e-mail me at <address removed by moderator>; I will then send you the ansiibm.sys file. Thanks in advance.

DOSBox supports ansi control code by its own. Have you tried it w/o ansi.exe?
You could also try vDos (http://sourceforge.net/projects/vdos). It adds more to the DOS experience under Windows, but it basically has the same ansi control code support.
What codes are you missing for your programs?
Converting ansiibm.sys to an executable file can’t be done (it could, but I’m not aware of any program that will do that for you).
You could try devlod (http://www.jimkyle.com/devlod7.zip) to load ansiibm.sys from the command prompt.
