So after than a less than happy trip to my local pc shop, I learned that i can only put a low profile graphics card in my machine, so is it worth it? I have an integrated gt 620, and was gonna get a low profile gtx 650, would this be worth it?

What is your budget and At what resolution will you plan to game at (if you do).
The GTX 750TI uses the new maxwell architecture which is insanely power efficient and sufficient to playing games at 1080p without the bells and whistles of AA and AF.

According to Nvidia website, the GTX 650 uses about 64W (recommended 400w PSU) and the GTX 750TI uses 60W (300w PSU recommended) . and the GTX 750ti is the more powerful of the 2 so i would recommend it if it is available to you.

as i live in Canada i dont know the prices of the graphic cards there. If you can chance upon a GTX 750TI or just a regular GTX 750 at around 100 pounds go for it; else since you were looking at the GTX 650 (i will assume it is in your price range) that is not a bad option (better if you can find a GTX 650TI).

The GTX 650 should be good for gaming at 900p (1600 x 900) and definitely at 720p. you may be able to play some slightly older games at 1080p with the GTX650

BTW what is your PSU??
