Hi when i play BF4 on a fresh game i stay above 120fps on medium settings and after 15mins it starts dropping to around 80fps and goes up then back down should i be getting more fps than that on HD7870 oc in crossfire? my specs are: please note my gpu's temps never go above 65c.

Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0
FX8350 4.0ghz
8GB 1600mhz G.skill ripjaws
CX750 corsair psu
128GB Scan disk ultra
1TB seagate barracuda
H55i Corsair liquid cooler
CM storm scout advanced 2

Solution
Well if you see your fx8350 having the mhz (around 4000) and multiplier (around 20) going up and down like that, then the first thing I would do is turn off the cool & quiet feature, and the C1E feature in the BIOS menu and check if that solves the issue.

That up and down motion sounds like your cpu throttling.
Watch your cpu's activity with CPU Z or HWMonitor:
http://www.cpuid.com/

Check and see if your multiplier drops from 20x down to 7x.

FX series cards have issues with throttling under load because of all the power/temp management features that you can find in the BIOS. [Eg: Cool & Quiet]
This may be happening regardless of your temps looking okay.

This constant up and down change in performance sounds just like it.

Its not uncommon to experience lower fps in high populated online games. And BF4 isn't a small 5v5 match...
I've heard suggestions that having greater download speeds will improve frame rates in online play, personally though id say fps is most dictated by hardware, though download speeds probably play a smaller role there. (If your internet isn't 4Mb/s or more, then its definitely a possibility)
Playing online simply asks for more to render and process.
Also, even though the latest BF4 patches have addressed these issues (hyperthreading requirements made this game difficult to run for most people) there will typically be fps drops in most games when playing online v. solo.

But 90+ frames (even on medium) is pretty good considering the problems the game has been having in the recent past.
