I have a PowerColor Radeon 7850 2GB and i want to buy another one so i can get my crossfire game rolling. I was wondering if i needed the exact same card to crossfire it with. I know i need another 7850 but does it have to be a PowerColor, or have to be a 2GB? I ask because im seeing some really cheap 7850's on ebay but not my exact same one (they are no longer made). Thank you for the feedback!

No you do not, but you need to know that what ever the lower specs are on each of them is what the other is gonna run at. So if one is only 900mhz clock speed and the other is 1100 it's gonna make the 1100 underclock to match the other and the same with the vram if one only has 1gb and the other has 2 it'll only use 1 gb of it

Oh ok! I did not know that, very informative! So it would be best to buy one as close to mine (Speed wise) as possible. My card speed is 860mhz on the core and 1200mhz on the memory. So your'e telling me it is perfectly ok to buy another brand of gpu as well?

Yes it would be best to do that, it's not necessary but if you want the best performance out of both its good to have them about equal if not equal. No you don't have to have the same brand it can be any, eg xfx, Asus, Sapphire any is good

Ok ok great! Thats good news. How do i know what crossfire bridge connector thingy is compatible with other cards? I assume they all use the same one as long as they are Radeon.
