Okay, so I have my R9 280X Toxic which jsut came in and at the moment I have to use the mother board from an HP Envy 1450 until my new mobo gets in (1 or 2 days) and when I installed it, hooked up the power and secured it, when I start the computer all I get is a black screen. Is this a compatibility issue? I know this mobo isn't very good at all but I was hoping I could use this card till it comes in. Please let me know,
Thanks.

As Suztera said, if it's the HP motherboard, sometimes proprietary motherboards don't like aftermarket GPU's especially if it's not one of their "recommended devices". I would just hold off until your Killer comes in and then put it together.

Well, if it's the factory HP Envy PSU, it's only 460W which could cause some damage with that GPU installed. I wouldn't use anything less than 550W reliable brand PSU. If you are really worried about it, the GPU requires two 8-pin power connections from the PSU. You need to have these plugged in for the GPU to operate but I wouldn't risk it.

I am using the Radeon HD 7570. I put it back in for now. I am getting the Asrock 990FX Killer Board. I have the FX 8350 and the H100i as well but im gonna put it all together when it gets here. I just wasn't sure if the card was bad or it's just the mobo im using now.
