My (new older) graphics card, and or my new build computer, are not recognizing my flat panel TV's audio capabilities. The card has 2 DVI connections , I connected a DVI / HDMI adapter, and a HDMI cable to the card , and the other end of the HDMI cable to the TV itself. I thought if I used an HDMI cable I don't have to bother with audio cables. What kind of a hook up do I need? I have installed all of the drivers, not sure what the problem is TV works fine with sound with my PS3. So the problem lies with the PC somewhere. Hope someone can help, looking forward to playing some games (skyrim/witcher 2)

So I have to have that connected for my audio to work? Problem is I have a 3 pin spdif connection on motherboard, a 2 pin spdif connector on the graphics card, and the other end of the spdif connector, only has 2 pins orange and black wires. The 2 ends look like the connectors for pwr switch and reset coming from the case. Also which of the 3 pins on the mobo do I connect them to ?

Look in the motherboards manual.
