Hi everyone, I'm on a a custom desktop rig and every now and then Windows (7 x64) will freeze for 10-15seconds and my D: drive will disappear from the computer. Nothing except a clean reboot of the system (most of the time manual) will fix the issue. Rebooting doesnt always fix it though, I sometimes have to power off the whole rig beforehand. When gone, the disk doesn't show in Disk Management or anywhere else, as if I did not have anything plugged in.
When the system doesn't freeze and the HDD is there, everything runs fine. But I'm up to a point where I have to do multiple manual reboots several times a day sometimes and it really is getting frustrating.
Do you think this could be caused by a faulty HDD ? Or voltages ? I'm pretty sure my component compatibilities are alright.
I have disk checked with Seagate Tools, checked my temperatures, no problem is detected from that.
My specs are as follows:
ASUS P8Z68-M Pro LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 SDRAM DDR3
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"
Crucial M4 2.5" 64GB SATA III
I'd be thankful for any help or advice.
