All in the title really. My brother was DDOS'd on his xbox and obviously this affected me connection to my pc too. I'd like to be able to check if i'm getting DDOS'd or just losing connection is there a way i can check packets recieved through my router or anything?

Well, you can monitor network activity through the Task Manager(Ctrl-Shift-Esc), Go to Performance Tab then the Resource Monitor button on the bottom right. Then in Resource Monitor, go to Network Tab and in the TCP Connections sub group, it will show you all of your TCP connections and packet loss percentage.
