Hey guys, just looking for some advice regarding whether or not my PSU will be sufficient to run 2x GTX 780Ti's in SLI. My current PSU is a Corsair AX860 which is only running 1 card at the moment. I plan on buying my second card within the next couple of weeks.
The rest of my setup is as follows:
Case: Define R4
Case Fans: 3x Noctua NF-A14 PWM fans
PSU: Corsair AX860
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero
CPU: i7 4700k @ 3.5Ghz (Stock)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12s
RAM: Corsair 16GB DDR3 1866MHz Dominator Platinum
SSD: 512GB Samsung 840 Pro
Graphics Card: Asus GTX 780Ti Direct CUII
When I buy my second GTX 780Ti, I also plan on adding a hard drive, which will be a 2TB Western Digital Caviar Black. I will also probably OC my i7 4700k to 4.2Ghz soon.
According to several review websites, 800W is the minimum for GTX 780Ti SLI. However, after researching online, there are a lot of mixed opinions.
- Do I need more headroom or will the AX860 be sufficient after I add another card and a hard drive?
- Should I swap it for a 1000W PSU? e.g SuperFlower Leader Platinum 1000W
Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing your feedback.
