I want to know what your averages are in minecraft shaders and BF4. What GPU do you have also. Thanks! I'm definitely considering this CPU.

Sorry, I'm not directly answering your question, but rather want to give you a little advice-

An Intel Core i5 and sometimes even the i3 would outperform the FX-8320 in nearly everything, especially gaming.

AMD gives you very inferior single-core performance compared to Intel, which translates to slow performance in anything that doesn't use a lot of threads (games older than 1-2 years old, day to day tasks, etc.)

The FX-8320 is a respectable CPU, don't get me wrong, but I would seriously reconsider. What's your budget.

$370 for CPU and GPU.

Okay, Iooked at a lot of benchmarks like this: http://www.techspot.com/review/827-watch-dogs-benchmarks/page5.html, and this: http://www.techspot.com/review/734-battlefield-4-benchmarks/page6.html

It looks like your best options would be either an i5 or the FX-8320. The i3 is good, but more and more people are finding it can't keep up, but an i5 would definitely be good boost to it.

I find it very hard to recommend anything from AMD's FX line though because the socket is dead and AMD probably will not do anything more to it. Intel gives you an upgrade path for when you have more money.

Therefore, I will give you a couple of options here:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i3-4150 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor ($118.48 @ SuperBiiz)
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 280X 3GB Double Dissipation Video Card ($259.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $378.47
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

*If you are okay with the possibility of needing to upgrade to an i5 later.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($139.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 280 3GB Double Dissipation Video Card ($199.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $339.98
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

*If you accept the fate of buying an AMD CPU. Expect lower performance in older games and day-to-day tasks.

*The best build, will have close performance to the 280x in the i3 build with all the advantages of the i5 CPU.

I would go for the last build here. I found that out myself as I drew out the builds for you, but I will leave the other ones so you can see. Hope that helps!

Thank you! I'm still probably going with the AMD though :p Thanks for your help!

You're welcome. Don't forget though... the AMD motherboards cost more. A good Intel motherboard only costs about $50. You'll need a lot more for a good AMD one ($30-50) + a CPU cooler if you want to overclock. I would seriously consider the i5 build.

Have fun!
