So I installed a new cpu cooler but it blocks the first 2 ram slots on my mobo. Before the upgrade I used the first slot and only the first slot. Now when I switch over to slots 3 OR 4 , the pc will not show anything on display. Please help me figure this out.

No, it will be easier to remove the whole heat spreader. It doesn't need it anyway. Use a very flat knife or tiny screw driver to gently seperate the heat spreader. And I mean GENTLE. It helps to warm it up with a hair dryer, but not too much heat.

GRRR the T4 only mounts one way on AMD boards. Is there no clearance at all?

You will need either a low profile RAM, or a different cooler.

Unless you want to modify and viod warranty. We can take that route if you like. Easiest would be carefully removing the heatspreader from the RAM. Got to be careful though as the adhesive strip can sometimes snatch ICs right off the PCB. Usually good to heat it up with hair dryer first.

Not if you only have one stick. Those are the "Master Slots" for the two channels (A master, and B master). Yes it's dumb. I feel your pain. I had to remove heat spreaders from my RAM when I beta-tested the T4 on an AMD platform 2 years ago.
