CPU or GPU upgrade

Hello everyone,
My system currently has a GT 640 2GB GDDR3 and an Intel Pentium G620 2 cores. I have around 180 - 250$ to get an upgrade for my PC. I usually play open-world game (JC 2, Saints Row III, GTA IV) and mostly FPS (BF3, BF:BC 2) which upgrade should I get? Thank you!
Extra info: I'm in Vietnam and the GTX 750 ti 2 GB GDDR5 here is 176$ and the Intel i5-3570k is 250$.

Watts means nothing. we need to know the make and model. or at least the amps.

Also i say upgrade the cpu because it will bottleneck if you put in a better gpu. It will still give better performance dont get me wrong but to run a better gpu at its full potential you need a better cpu. Plus most game that are coming out are starting to be more cpu intensive and utilize 4 cores.

It's kind of hard to say. what is your psu? I'd say go for the cpu. dual core is going to hold you back. the 640 is by no means good but it does the job. Id wait till maxwell comes out to upgrade your GPU. By then you can either get the newer better 850 or get the 750 for a lower price ideally.

I've used a version of that gpu in my laptop (gt 640m, same hardware just lower clocks) and it runs most of those games fine, no clue on the fps games. The cpu however will last you longer as recently there haven't been much increase in cpu power since sandy bridge, and I think you'll find that the same priced gpu when you have more money will be a lot more powerful (compare 650 to 750).
