hello, im new in this forum and i would like to ask is it worth to upgrade my cpu from 3570 (non-k) to 4670k/4770k? what i do is for gaming only. i dont do stuff like editing a video.

fyi: i never tried an overclocking before so, is it worth it to upgrade? are there gonna be a significant perfomance improvement?

anyway, here it is my rig:

MSI P67A-GD65
i5 3570
gtx 690
8gb ram
2tb hdd

No I would not bother. It would not be worth the money and hassle. Your i5 is still very strong. Plus, with that motherboard, you can overclock it +400mhz even though it's not a K model if you feel like you NEED more cpu power which you shouldn't. That i5 will outlast that GTX690.

Upgrading to 4670k , NO

Upgrading to 4770k , YES, but for gaming only still NOT worth it, since games donot make use of HyperThreading much. But for editing purpose there will be significant increase in performance

The difference between stock i5 4670k vs OC'ed( about 4.4-4.5GHz) i5 4670k would most likely be 8-14% and overclocking requires a costly motherboard, aftermarket CPU cooler and TIME.
