swapped evo 212 turbo for corsair h100i to help cool fx8350 before getting a fx9370, alas it dont keep anywhere near as cool, am i missing something ? mobo asus m5a99fx pro,haf usb3 full tower, 3 x 200mm fans 91 side intake, 2 roof exhaust0, 1 rear 140mm exhaust, 1 230mm front intake, cant get past 4.8ghz without rebooting back to a odd 3.6ghz stock core, is something being misread or am i not cooling enough ?

h100i mounted in the roof with supplied fans in push mod, tried connecting fans direct to mobo cpu connection and the 2 x 200mm fans to cpu opt, aswell as the obvious direct to waterblock connections,
used thermal paste that was as applied, i have some artic silver 5 as next attempt

try your rad fans in pull rather than push , that might shave off a few degress by drawing cool air from outside into your case rather than pushing warm air from your case out through the rad , the arctic silver 5 may also help

Keep in mind this will increase your ambient temp and anything inside that is air cooled (probably everything else since you're using a corsair h100i) will suffer. Maybe not much, but it will increase the ambient air temp.

Firstly, don't get the 9370 until you 100% solve the temp issues here. (9370 is made of magma)
Definitely take some time investigating the air flow throughout your tower and fan placement.
I have the 9370 with a significantly lower quality water cooler and I wasnt surviving Prime 95 tests for more than 10mins before overheating...
I swapped some fans around and made sure that fans on my radiator were working well.
Now I consistently stay stable and under 70°C for Prime95 (keep in my mind my AseTek 510LC cooler is nowhere near as awesome as the h100i)
And during normal gaming and other use i stay under 50°C when under heavy load
Try to map the airflow path in your tower to see if hot air pockets are forming.

I've got an FX 4130 3.8 GHz and it stays in the low 40s under heavy load. I've got a Hyper 212 Plus on it with two fans. Getting water cooling stuff now. Will be installing a loop within a few months.
done a bit of tinkering and fan moving/direction changing, 2x 200mm fans in roof exhaust, 1x 200mm fan side inlet, ix 230mmfan front inlet, 1x 120mm fan front behind drive bays inlet, 1x140 rear exhaust, 1x 140 sat facing up on bottom of case, temps are now stable 27 idle and 58 after 2 hours of bf4, turned off cool n quiet, that alone dropped temps by 5 degree's.
