Hello guys,
I have recently bought a zotac e2-1800itx motherboard. The cpu is integrated on the mobo, having passive cooling.

I installed the mobo into an inter tech e-i5 case.

The problem is that the temperature of the CPU was very very high, about 90 - 95 degree Celsius in idle. Do you know what could be the problem here? I guess it is not normal such a high temp value. The case has no fans. but anyway the passive cooling should keep the temperature between a normal range of values.

Do you have any idea?
Thanks.

"The case has no fans."

there is your problem. where do you expect the heat to go without any fans? it's just going to build up in the case.

OK, I will buy fans for the case. But, from the moment that the CPU has passive cooling, should I also add a fan for CPU? Above the heatsink maybe? Is it a good idea?

if the cpu is supposed to have passive cooling, it is fine to leave it but u cant have no fans at all. something has to dump the heat out of the case.

i suggest you look into getting a quiet case fan, as that is the intention of the build im assuming

You are right, the case should have at least a fan, I am so noob. The problem was that the case came without any fan, and I was thinking that it should be ok like that.

I am going to achieve a good fan, even if it is louder. For me, it is more important to be cooler than quieter. Do you recommend some good 40mm fans ? (40 mm is specified on my case specs)

at 40mm it would be best to go with something more powerful. that is a small fan.

you just need to look at db (noise, lower is better) and cfm (how much air it moves, higher is better.)

Yes hot air will definitely go up so you should at least place one exit fan above your cpu.
