Hello Guys,

Okay so the problem is that my graphic card HiS 7850 died all of a sudden. I came home yesterday, started my computer which everything worked fine except for the monitor which i noticed a stuck pixel of a red color on my monitor, so i searched for a solution on google which i found one and that fixed the problem. Even the graphic card wasn't showing up any problems at that time.

I went to sleep, so the next day i started my computer and the monitor wasn't responding like saying cable not detected. At first i thought that my monitor died, after some time i saw that the graphic card fan wasn't spinning so i changed the cable to VGA and it worked. But found out that the card stopped responding, like fan isn't spinning and card is not being detected.

I tried cleaning the graphic card, replugging the power supply cords but nothing seem to solve the problem. So what could be the problem, is it the power supply, Graphic card or the PCI-e x 16 slot?
Plus warrant of graphic card expired last month.
System Specs:-

Os: Windows 7 64 bit
Motherboard: Intel Dh55tc
Processor: i3-530
Ram: 4 GB DDR 3
Graphic card: HiS 7850 2gb
Power Supply: Cooler Master GX 550w

I bought this graphic card at April 13 2013 and the warranty time period was for 1 year which is currently over. The makers of the Graphic card is HiS brand and the model number is H785F2G2M. I bought this graphic card from a shop known as Galaxy Computers in my country which are the retailers for HiS. And also this is the second time that this graphic card went defective in which my first graphic card was replaced.

I hardly doubt that both store and company is going to help me out this time, since the last time when my graphic card was defective even i had warranty, i had to fight and argue with both of them for replacing my graphic card. And this time without a warranty, these guys wont help me out. Might as well take it a local shop and take my chances their for repairs, if nothing seems to solve the problem then my best option would be to sell my computer...

To be honest, i don't even have the skill to remove the graphic card from pci-e slot. Well going to the computer shop tomorrow for a complete diagnose of the computer and find out the problem. And i hope and pray that the graphic card isn't the cause.

Btw another question i needed to ask is about the monitor, since i bought the monitor with my graphic card a year ago. Its the first time I've seen a red pixel (small dot) on my monitor. So should i expect more stuck pixels to appear or even a dead pixel ?

Well i got it diagnosed today and seems the graphic card died.. Again ... I guess i could try contacting the company HIS and ask them if anything could be done even without the warranty.

I guess you are right, but i think i had enough of graphic cards. I worked my ass off to buy this graphic card and all other components required to run it: Casing, Power supply and a good monitor. And in return what did i get, two times dead graphic card, stress and waste of time trying to claim warranty and repair the card. Made a very wrong investment as they are risky and not durable. Might as well bought a Xbox-360 or something ... Anyways thanks for the help, really appreciate it.

Today i turned on my computer like always, the graphic card started working itself, fan started spinning indicating that its now being powered on and being detected. Bad news is that my computer isn't booting, it just keeps giving these beeps and nothing happens. So i had remove the graphic card to start the computer. So what could be the cause of this problem ?

I followed Davidgilinsky advice on contacting the company HIS regarding the graphic card and they are willing to repair the graphic card.

(1) repair charge= USD 30 ( not including ASIC , memory & fansink cost if they need during repair process )
(2) Shipping Cost= USD 30

So what i wanted to ask is it worth repairing a graphic card? Are the costs too expensive or pretty much okay?

I needed some suggestions before making a decision. Any advice would be great.

Is 60 USD worth it for a used 7850 to you? Some it can be some it isn't.

depending on the repair, it is not worth repairing no, the cost can be so much it's more worthwhile buying a new one. As with repairing them, what they actually do is replace whole parts then charge labor on top of that.
