Solved Quick NIC question! Tags: NIC Connection Ethernet Card Systems Internet Last response: June 4, 2014 4:15 AM in Systems Share tamethegamer June 4, 2014 2:52:41 AM Might be a stupid question but I don't know: Do I need a NIC to connect to the internet through an ethernet cable? More about : quick nic question Reply to tamethegamer Best solution Phillip Corcoran June 4, 2014 4:15:58 AM Not necessarily as your motherboard may already have an integrated ethernet port on it, most of them do nowadays. If you've got a network cable lying around, look for a port on the back of your system-case that the network cable will fit into. If it fits, that's an ethernet port.
