ive had a desktop computer for a couple years now and ive started having a few problems im not really a computer wiz per say but I have a little bit of knowledge on pc's. I had a intel motherboard, with 1 g video 4g ram and 2.6 cpu and I was getting a lot of BSOD
of the top of my head
-BAD_POOL_HEADER
-DRIVER_NOT_EQL_OR_LESS

and a few more, so I changed motherboards now I have a AMD with new CPU and new 8g of ram with same 1g graphics card and HDD and NEW windows 7 but I seem to be having the same problems. I re-seated everything but I haven't checked the power supply, I have read online if it was powersupply my pc would even turn on. my pc randomly BSODs, sometimes it just restarts without any BSODs and its frustrating me. can it be my HDD It hasn't been changed before. please help me !

Solution
If your power supply was completely broken, it wouldn't turn on. The thing is, PC hardware seldom fails suddenly; Your power supply might be slowly heading towards its death and providing unstable voltages, making your PC crash.

You can test your HDD using speedfan:http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
Select your system drive in the S.M.A.R.T. tab of speedfan and do a short test. Then click 'Perform an in-depth online analysis of this hard disk'. Then post a screenshot of what it says.

I went into a computer store and asked if it could be my power supply and the guy said it's more likely to be leaning towards HDD, he said if it was the power supply, windows wouldn't boot up.
