internet unresponsive on new build

just built my first build ever and i have updated the driver and uninstalled the old one for my network card, my internet still dosen't work yet it works fine on a different computer, i have also updated the drivers for all my other parts. i have an asus z87 maximus hero vi motherboard I also have windows 8.1 which i already activated, also is there any free programme so automatically update my drivers? when i brought the lan update onto my new build via a dvd and it worked fine after i deleted the old one but after i left for a while it went back to be unrespsonsive or very very slow.

Have you installed the Windows 8.1 drivers from the ASUS website?

As for updating drivers, don't do it if existing drivers are working okay. It is not essential to always have the latest versions installed. Only update a driver if the update fixes a problem you are experiencing, otherwise leave well alone.
