Hi there,

I just wondering is it possible to connect my old PC to Sony Bravia TV (KDL-50W685A) using VGA to HDMI cable (below)? If "not" could you explain why? And what is alternative way to connect it!

My TV doesn't have VGA slots at all, only 2 x HDMI but the problem is that my old PC doesn't have HDMI slot!

Thanks in advance!

Solution
No, you'll need an active converter.
VGA = Analog
DVI-A = Analog
HDMI = Digital
DVI-D = Digital
DisplayPort = Digital
DVI-I = Both

To put it simply, you need to use DVI-I/D (if your PC has a DVI-I/D connector) or something digital to make it work with HDMI without an active converter.
