You have to partition and format the new hard drive first so that Windows assigns a drive letter to it.
Without a drive letter, Windows cannot show the drive anywhere except in Disk Management.
That's where you need to be to partition and format it:
Start > Control Panel > Admin Tools > Computer Management >Disk Management
Thank you Phillip, really appreciate your quick response. I've been scouring the net along with this forum for answers, and did come across a similar statement. I will give that a shot when I get home today from work. What a great forum.
