Tower Front Headphone Jack

Having some trouble with the front headphone jack on my PC tower. When I plug it in completely there is no sound at all, however, when I plug it in half way the sound seems fine.

I'd originally thought the problem was with the jack itself so I ordered a replacement jack and switched it out. Unfortunately, the problem remains.

Just wondering if anyone might have any ideas what else might be causing this?

Most likely it is caused by whatever you are plugging into the jack. All headphone jacks have three rings that touch 3 spots(left, right, ground) on the headphones plug(i am assuming your plugging headphones into a headphone jack). Have you tried plugging the headphones into something else (a stereo, etc) and making sure they are working properly?

If they are let me know... It is probably a wiring problem or you have the plug set to mono instead of stereo sound in settings. Also could have something to do with your bios settings (AC97 vs HD)
