Hello I Have a computer with p41t-c31 mobo and 9800gt 512mb on
A friend of mine just gave me an Sapphire HD4850 1gb. The GPU is working
I put it on and the pc wont start. I hear one Long Beep and 2 Short Beeps.
I checked online, its GPU error.
What can I do? Is it compatibility issue or anything else?
Thanks

First whats the make and model of your powersupply? Or,if you know already,How many Watts is it rated for and how many AMPs does it supply on the 12v rail.

Your GPU might not be getting enough power to function.

The GT 9800 actually has a higher TDP so it probably isn't a power issue:

I completely overlooked the 9800gt being in the system before, guess its time for more coffee.

EDIT:...actually,you're wrong. The 4850's minimum is a 450watt PSU compared to 400watts for the 9800gt. The 9800GT also requires 4 few AMPs on the 12v rail(26 vs 30amp).
TDP =105 watts on the 9800gt, 110watts on the 4850.

Atleast according to Newegg,Guru3D,HWCompare,and Techpowerup.

@CrispyChips: Well then, that's the first time GPUBoss has let me down...

@lazanoz: Did you try uninstalling the old drivers with the old card installed?
