Guys :)  wanted to ask you - what effect does coin mining have on a GPU? Are they still usable after mining?

when cards are used for mining, they were run at 100% load 24/7 for who knows how long. buying a card that was used for mining is like playing the lottery, i would not recommend it. i am not saying they will not work, but since they were under max load for an unknown amount of time, at unknown temps, it is possible the life of the card has been greatly reduced.

if the GPU is not damaged during the mining effort - YES - still usable.

If you were instead the cause of global warming with your overclocking - it is likely not usable once you put the fire out.

I read the original post in a different way - but I agree 100%. If you are looking to buy one that was used for mining - DON'T. Too many variables.
