Hi, I'm about to buy parts for my first build. It is a budget gaming build and I'd like to compare to PSUs that I'd like to either buy.
Is the Corsair CX500 good enough for my build, I know the XFX is better quality but is really that worth it. The XFX will cost some more and be shipped :( .
HERE ARE MY SPECS
CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor (£77.86 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard (£60.46 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£62.98 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£39.50 @ Amazon UK)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB FTW ACX Video Card (£119.99 @ Amazon UK)
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case (£39.95 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: ????????
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer (£11.79 @ Amazon UK)

The quality heart of heart also depends on size of body.
For a small body/budget PC, a small heart/budget PSU will do its work effectively.

His build won't go higher than 200W-220W at peak load and CX500W will be fine for a PC with such power consumption.

Though if OP can, XFX 550W is a better choice

Alright I'm going with the CX500, since the XFX hased to be shipped and is more expensive. I don't plan on upgrading and hopefully my build turns out good. Thanks for the help if you can, for the answer tell me what you think of my build :)

XFX Pro Core 450W that Pondering has listed is a better deal.
Surely CX500W PSU won't blow up your system since your system's peak power consumption is less than 50% of rated power of CX500W and people who end up blowing up their systems with CX series PSU don't know this.

With that said, I would still strongly recommend XFX Pro Core 450W PSU

That really doesn't matter the CX series has crappy capacitors Ltec/Teapo/Capxon/samxon regardless....they can self destruct randomly.... Capxon probably worst those are junk... Japanese electrolytic's are far superior.
