hi everyone!
My xbox is dead, my notebook has a crappy gt330m, therefore i'm turning to pc.
Right now my pc has:
630w power (old & not branded)
8gb ram
i7-4770k
ssd120gb
hdd 1tb
asus z87 pro
Monitor 1680*1050 (but i think i will play on a fullhd tv)
Right now i'm running on the integrated card.
i'm kinda confused since there are tons of versions from the same brand and same chip.
Right know i can get:
AMD
SAPPHIRE TECHNOLOGY R9 290X TRI-X (non vapor-x) for 413€
SAPPHIRE TECHNOLOGY R9 290 TRI-X (non vapor-x) for 325€
SAPPHIRE R9 290 OC Vapor-X TRI-X 377€
NVIDIA
Zotac GTX780 OC 3072MB 403€
Asus GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5 402€
(outsider: sapphire vapor-x 280x 228€ and after 1/2 year, if i'm not satisfied i could crossfire)
Mostly i will play all major brand of games except sport/driving ones, so BF4, Bioshocks, CODs, Farcry, Metro, Assassins' creed etc. etc.
What i care is:
Price/performance ratio
Budget around 400€
If possible, i don't wanna change the power supply (for the moment)
Future proofing (so better 3gb+ of ram, even because i'm tempted to crossfire/sli in the next few years to prolong the lifetime)
not too loud
i will not change my HW every 6 month, so durability is important.
i would like to play on all ultra settings for a while and maybe some filters on to enjoy all the nice graphics of today.
I'm not worried of doing some OC, to squeeze a little more lifetime in the future.
My questions are:
1) is there such a big difference between TRI-X and Vapor-X? is it worth 50€ more?
2) There are VTX3D 290 and 290x priced around 10€ less than sapphire (custom cooled) are they worth it given such a small difference?
3) will i be able to play in 3d, on my 3d tv @1080p?
4)Are AMD drivers such a pain as they describe it?
5) what is the more "future proofing" solution?
6) Will i be able to cook on my case due to AMD heating?
MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION: WILL IT BLEND?!?!?!
Seriously, given the prices, what should i get?
Thanks for your help, and sorry for the lenght of the post.
