Hi,

I've been running an i5 2500k at stock frequency with a HD 6850 1GB for the past few years. However with games like Star Citizen on the horizon, it seems I'm due an upgrade.

I'm thinking of purchasing this R9 270X - but I'm not sure if my i5 2500k is going to bottleneck the performance of this card.

Any help is appreciated =)

EDIT: Never mind, I've found a related thread - seems bottlenecking won't be an issue. How do I delete this...

No the i5 2500k won't bottleneck a R9 270X, Not even the R9 290X.

No it won't, it won't bottleneck even higher end cards. Don't worry you'll be fine :)

You shouldn't have any problems with that CPU and GPU. If you are really worried you could grab an aftermarket cooler and overclock the cpu but even at stock it should perform great.

No, its still more than a capable CPU. You'll be fine.
