Help in choosing a video card

I am building a new computer. Im coming from a old plataform 775 (Q9550) combined with a 9800gtx+. This computer was around 5 years old.
I will be getting i7-4770k or i7-4790k (if it will be available when i buy)
Maximus VII Hero
for sure a solid 650w PSU
I want your opinion regarding which VGA to buy, I want this computer to last for some years like the old one.

when you buy your parts..look at the new maxwell gpu or the newer amd cards when they drop latter this year. maxwell gpu are less power hungry then the older 700 line. you want to pick up the 770 or it replacement to it the best card for for the money. on amd side look at the 280/280x or it replacment.

Is the GTX 770 good ? Or is better to get a GTX 780. Another question, r9 280x or gtx770? Which one is better?
I will be gaming all the newest games, such as bf4, COD, watch dogs....

I dont have a concern about budget, but I also dont want to pay a lot in a VGA. I will be using it mostly for gaming.
