Hi guys,

I recently purchased a set of Mushkin Redline memory (999051) from Newegg to replace my old Corsair set. However, I can't for the life of me get it running properly. The computer often freezes while the bios is loading, and even while I'm trying to edit bios settings. I've tried manually setting voltages and timings, but to no effect. The problem persists even when I boot from one stick. In the meantime, I've switched back to the old set, but I'd like to get the new memory running. I'd be extremely grateful if anyone could shed any light on this problem.

Thanks in advance!

Mushkin:
1866MHz
9-9-9-27
1.50V
3x4GB

Corsair:
1600MHz
9-9-9-24
1.60V
3x2GB

What are the details of the rest of your computer?

After a bit more research, I think I've found the answer: my current motherboard just does not support 12GB of 1866MHz memory. It's an intel LGA 1366, and according to Ascendtech, it supports 24GB at 1333MHz, 12GB at 1600MHz, but only 6GB at 1866MHz. Thanks for the help.

It's not a capacity issue, it's a stability issue. Bump the IMC voltage by 0.1 volt and see if that helps
