Can I attach just one of the 12v 4 pin eps connectors from a 12v 8 pin eps adapter-

Hello,I was wondering if attaching just one of the 4pin 12v eps connectors from a 8 pin eps adapter(to 4 pin eps) on a motherboard is okay?,

Will this do damage to the motherboard or a system??

I've done it, and it works fine. If it didn't they would have made the pins fit differently.

HA! The 8 pin split in half into 2 four pin eps on the new power supply I bought !!! I could not tell--I almost bought the 20$ eps cable adapter!!!! Thanx your answer-----I guess the computer only takes what it needs--from the psu.
