Hello,

I am planning to set up a as the question suggests a 3 monitor setup with the ASUS VG248QE

However I don't want the screens 3D ability to go to waste,
I hear that a 3 monitor setup halves your fps and that activating stereoscopic 3D takes another half of the FPS

Anyway is it possible without getting 3 Titan in SLI? Its sooooo expensive...
Do you recommend it?

Different monitor suggestion? I'm thinking that if I buy the monitor it will last for at least 5-7 years

Solution
if your a casual gamer, then 60hz is enough. You will notice the difference between 60Hz and 144Hz, but depending on what games your trying to play, there won't be a huge difference due to your FPS achievement.

770 SLI is more powerful, not by a Huge amount.

780 in most cases is better due to no multi-GPU support needed.

R9 290 (Possible crossfire depending on where you live) Would be best.
Correct you would not halve your FPS going from 1 monitor to three. You would obviously reduce it to 1/3 of what it was. THEN 3D would halve it again.

3D gaming never really took off, but you would do one or the other NOT both. And you should NEVER use Titan for gaming. Ever.

never use titan for gaming....Why not?

3D does not halve FPS, and three screens is not always 1/3 of the performance, for adding more screens there is a clear impact but it is not 3 times what 1 screen would be, it's a little less then that.

Right now I am making a parts list for the computer,
It will definitely run on Xeon E3 -1231 v3, with GA-Z97X-UD5H Motherboard in my big fat a** CM storm Stryker case :D

So if I wont be getting 144 fps is it worth buying a 144 Hz monitor?
Why is 144Hz better than 60Hz monitors, I know for 3D its good, but how about normal gaming?

Nah, I just said Titan, I am considering GTX 770- SLI or GTX 780
