Hey everyone, I'm new here. I just received an Asus x200ca laptop that I got online. I purchased an SSD to put into it but I am at a loss as to how to get the OS onto the SSD so I can install it into the new computer. I've never really installed an OS other than standard reformatting some of my old computers and I really don't want to mess up the computer or the SSD. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Is there any way to get a fresh install versus cloning the drive?

Also, I'm trying to figure out is installing Windows 7 may be better since that is what I am the most familiar with.

Well, I got the computer on Groupon (Refurbished), it didn't really come with anything but the laptop and the software already installed on board already. That's why I didn't know if a clean install was even possible or if I'm just stuck having to copy everything from the existing hard drive to the SSD. Will cloning affect performance?

I was using EaseUS (In there something better that is also free to use?) and it has an "Optimize for SSD" option which I was using. Maybe another program though?
