How do I Clean Install Windows 8 on a new SSD?

Hey everyone, I'm new here. I just received an Asus x200ca laptop that I got online. I purchased an SSD to put into it but I am at a loss as to how to get the OS onto the SSD so I can install it into the new computer. I've never really installed an OS other than standard reformatting some of my old computers and I really don't want to mess up the computer or the SSD. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  1. Is there any way to get a fresh install versus cloning the drive?
  2. Also, I'm trying to figure out is installing Windows 7 may be better since that is what I am the most familiar with.
  3. if you have the legit one with license and your system have the driver to support it i would do it .
  4. Well, I got the computer on Groupon (Refurbished), it didn't really come with anything but the laptop and the software already installed on board already. That's why I didn't know if a clean install was even possible or if I'm just stuck having to copy everything from the existing hard drive to the SSD. Will cloning affect performance?
  5. cloning will be better .
  6. Alright, so I have tried to clone the drive to SSD twice now and each time after about 2 minutes, I get an error: 0x18D0E077 (Failed to write sector)...ideas?
  7. check if you could use the hdd maker cloning software or the ssd one some people have this error on the drive cloning .
  8. I was using EaseUS (In there something better that is also free to use?) and it has an "Optimize for SSD" option which I was using. Maybe another program though?
  9. does the ssd seller have this kind of cloning to you could use .
