Im thinking of building a new intel build 4770k or 4790k with MAXIMUS VII but I dont know which model suites me.

Ranger? Hero? Gene?

Can anyone help me with these boards? I mean they overclock the CPU the same right?
so what makes it different between these 3 model boards?

will the board fits my case?

Hero is probably your best choice, ranger is also a great choice. From memory, if you need more SATA/USB then the Ranger is for you, overclocking on all those ROG boards are quite similar.

let say I'm just a person who doesnt do much for RAM (only 8gb in my current rigs) , not using SSD , only have 1TB HDD which board suits me?

The Ranger will be a little brother to the Hero, same as the Hero in effect is a little brother to the Formula, overall, I found the Hero to be the best mobo for Z87 builds, mines in sig, and picked up the Z97 Hero (which is even better than the Z87 Hero, am playing with it now with a spare 4770K while waiting for the Devils Canyon K models to be released, OCs better than the Z87, does run cooler, and can handle faster DRAM
