I've gone through the sticky, and talked to other people, but I want to narrow down the possibilities before I try buying anything that won't work.

It's just as it sounds--the (VGA) display doesn't display. It "responds", in that it will go from the orange "sleep" state to a green "on" state on the power button, but aside from the glow of on-ness, nothing displays on the screen.

I have a long list of possible errors/fixes; which sounds most likely? Is there any other possibility that I might be missing?

Most likely, the issue is the GTX 760; I'm just not sure what exactly is the issue. The fans on the GPU work, so it isn't completely messed up, and I've tried both motherboard slots, with the same result, so I don't think it's that.

One thought is that somehow the adapter cables I had to use have done something; one is an 8-pin to two 6-pin PCI-E; the other is a 6-pin to two 4-pin peripheral cables.

Another is that the PSU doesn't send enough power through the lines; it says it only has 24A for the connections, whereas the GPU calls for 30A. I'm not sure that would be that much of an issue, though...

One person wondered if I just needed to try a different monitor/hookup.

I'm also not %100 certain which slot I should install the RAM into, since the manual didn't explain that. Should it be the DDR3_4 or the DDR3_1 slot, or something else?

This is sort of long and confusing, but I wanted to cover all my bases. Thanks for any help/advice you could give!

Solution
I would say the power supply might not have enough amps on the 12V rails. Form googling you power supply, it actually sounds like it has two 12V rails. The first is for the cpu and pcie cables and the second is the peripherals cables.
Consider upgrading your power supply.
