Is my motherboard too old for my components?

Hey guys! i've been struggeling with my computer lately, i get random black screen/crashes (no BSOD or crash message comes up when restarting the computer) and i'm not sure what the issue is. When the black screen occur, sometimes i can still hear music playing but sometimes everything just mess up and i get wierd glitchy sounds and have to reboot the PC.

My question is, is my motherboard too old for the components i have on my PC? I recently updated most of the things in my PC besides Mobo, CPU and HDD. Here's my specs:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 3,2Ghz Black Edititon
GPU: ASUS Radeon R7 260X 2GB DirectCU II OC (R7260X-DC2OC-2GD5)
RAM MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz
POWER-SUPPLY: Fractal Design PowerSupply (PSU) Integra R2 650W
MOTHERBOARD: Asus M4A78T-E, AMD 790GX Socket AM2/AM3, ATX.
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB + 120GB Samsung
CASE: Fractal Design Define R4 Pearl Black

Or can it be a PSU problem? Please let me know! I'm currently thinking of buying a whole new mobo and CPU but i'd love to hear an opinion on this first before i go spend my money on something that might not even be the issue!

Solution
do you have a old sound card around you could try and disable the onboard one that would be the best test . another thing did you upgrade the via driver to the latest for the audio chipset .

Thanks i really appreciate your quick answer.

I've did both tests and took printscreen of it

Here's the ''whocrashed'' test: http://oi62.tinypic.com/2h4gie8.jpg

and the ''hwininfo'' program: http://oi57.tinypic.com/9rps0m.jpg

I'm not really good with voltages and that kind of stuff. Is there any visible issues in these printscreens?

I know when it comes to the whocrashed test that whenever these crashes happened, i got error texts when i started the computer. i used to run beta drivers but now i run stable drivers and it still happens, though without error texts. sometimes i can run the computer for a whole day, but sometimes it crashes 10 mintues after i've started it. It's pretty wierd...

Ok, well that's good to hear! thanks.

So i should buy an SSD harddrive to have the OS on? because right now i only use one hdd with all the stuff on it. I guess it might be a bad install of windows too since i installed it trough USB, but not sure.

But you're sure it's not the motherboard? thing is, my previous graphics card (Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4850 Gddr3 512MB, Dual Slot Edition) completely stopped working for unknown reason, didn't want to start at all. So i was a bit afraid at first to plug in the new gpu in the PCI slot but it booted up well. I just think it might be the PCI slot(s) that's been damaged since i've tried to run a previous broken GPU in it a bunch of times before i changed to a new GPU. However, i don't know how if that possible or not, i'm not so experienced when it comes to that kind of stuff.

Yes i've tried both PCI slots but still the same problem occur on both of them. I will try to use only one of the new ram, and i think i'll order a SSD now (I've always wanted one anyways). Thanks i appreciate your help!

So today i ran memtest86 and everything looked fine, no errors at all.

It must be a problem with my OS, tomorrow i'll be installing the new SSD and install a new OS on it, hopefully it'll be more stable then.

Just got my new SSD and OS installed, been running the computer for about 4 hours, not played any games though but no crashes when leaving the computer idle or just browsing the web. So far so good!

I'll be back with an update at the end of the week or if it's crashing.

Just got my first crash while installing firefox... Hmm, i'll try unplug my other HDD soon after i've transfered the needed files from it and see if that solves the problem.

I unplugged the old HDD and run on 8gb ram 3 hours ago, so far so good. I'll leave the computer on over the night. If it hasn't crashed when i wake up, the HDD must have been the problem.

I left the computer on under the night, no crash! it seems more stable, however it just crashed.. It seems to happen when i listen to music or playing any type of audio. Can it possibly be the soundcard? i'm using the built in mobo soundcard.

I sadly don't have a old sound card laying around, i do have an external soundcard though (Komplete Audio 6) It's plugged in but not installed yet. I don't think i've updated the via driver yet, i'll try that and see if it get's more stable, but if nothing of this works i have no clue what the problem can be.

I think i'm going to order a brand new Mobo and CPU, because my mobo atm is already bottlenecking some stuff, the SSD and GPU for example... I really think there must be something with my Asus M4A78T-E motherboard, it has to be damaged or just can't take the power of the components?

Ok so yesterday i installed my new motherboard and CPU... Left the PC on during the night and it STILL CRASHES.

i just spent unnecessary money which sucks. But when gaming i get a bit better and stable frames so that's good i guess.

Now i think the whole problem much be the graphics card that's causing the whole computer to freeze, and crash while playing games. Because sometimes when playing games, the screen get's glitchy. But it just irritates me as the GPU is new, bought it about 2 months ago... So it shouldn't be the problem

Computer still crashing from time to time... A little bit more stable, but still irritating with the crashes..

It definitely have to be the GPU.

I've built another PC with the old motherboard, CPU and a old 500Watt PSU but with a new NVIDIA GPU and an SSD. Runs 100% stable without crashes... Hopefully i can return the AMD card and buy a new NVIDIA gpu for this one as well.
