Ethernet Cable Trouble

I have my Ethernet cable plugged into the back of my computer but the lights are orange, they're meant to be green I'm assuming. I have internet connectivity but it still seems as slow as my normal wireless connectivity. I was wondering whether I maybe installed a wrong driver or it's just being weird...

N WiFi is faster than the internet service most people have. So unless your wireless has a particular problem, such as excessive distance or signal interference that constricted the internet, you will get no quicker service through Ethernet. Only maybe a few milliseconds faster ping response.
