Good Upgrade for GT 610

A few months ago, I bought a used old OEM machine for $85, and I'm wondering what GPU I can get for it to at least let me play GTA 4 on medium settings with playable fps. Also is it possible to upgrade my RAM? I'm not just worried about GTA 4, I also play Battlefield 3, Counter-Strike Global Offensive, ARMA 2, and Team Fortress 2. I also play MineCraft with shaders, and GTA 5 on low settings I guess if it ever comes out for PC, and if its not a crappy console to pc port like GTA 4
Also, I don't want to have to upgrade the PSU because it is too pricy to do so, and my friend tells me it has to be the right voltage as the motherboard or it will burn, and it is too complex so I'm just looking for and upgrade for my crappy GT 610 atm. Should I switch to Radeon, or get another GeForce?

I bought the machine as it is
Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4 GHz (Un-Upgradeable)
230-250W PSU
2GB DDR2 RAM
200GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GT 610

You should upgrade that PSU before you do anything else. Post again when you have a quality PSU that can actually run a graphics card.

I don't really have the money for it, and I think replacing a PSU is too much of an expensive and Complex process. I'm pretty sure there should be something that my PSU can handle.

Is the gt 610 the only choice I have? How about the Radeon HD cards?
the gt 610 is a terrible card

YOu have no options I'm afraid other than to get a new psu. dude its like $30 for a corsair cx series. get the cx500w and pick up a gtx 550ti or a r9 260 of of amazon and decent GPU is going to be $100

yes but the process is so complicated, and risky. I don't know much about Power Supplies or Motherboard voltages there has to be at least something

Can you at least suggest other low-power cards better than the gt 610, the other components can't possibly use that much power

Some lowest power cards are
7750
R7 250
GT 640
GTX 750

but even these cards dont run on your psu, u need atleast a corsair cx 430 and u can see installation guides on youtube.

see the thing is that is the lowest watt card and every other card is quite a bit higher
Plus your psu does not even meet the minimum recommended output for the 610!
we will walk you threw changing a psu, It's really not that hard

Can I at least get a GT 630 or a 640?
Or maybe a HD 6670? and I don't have much money, if I buy the PSU I won't have any more left for the GPU so its a lose lose situation, that is why I want to make sure if there is anything at all that is better than a 610 and doesnt use much power. I also don't want to mess up my motherboard by buying a PSU with the incorrect voltages.

who told you can mess up you your mobo buy buying the wrong voltage psu? that's not how it works. PSUs only come in one voltage in america and its not like there are a ton of options every where else. its 2 options.

if its running it you are fine. its just it calls for a 300w psu. you must just have enough amps.

You could run an hd6450 on your current psu.Its better than gt610.
