I have amd phenom 2 x 4 965 ,
recently pc have been shut down many times , i think it was the processor and yes there was the fan have been stopped
In the city i live i could not find any fan to replace it as everybody use intel and only intel processor fans are available so i go to some technical guy do something to the old fan and worked again with expectation to stop again but this only temporary solution until finding a new fan.
My question is :
how i know that the cpu did or did not real damage ?
We are now in summer and pc in a room without air conditioner so it normally with the original fan working reaches 60 c temp is that destroying or normal ?
note that this temp without running games or heavy load also room temp is about 40 c

60 is still a good temp it's fine if there is a problem you will know because it won't work

coolcole01 ,
Is that mean no gradual destruction occurs by another words not 20 percent of the cpu died
It is a live or not this is the question right ?

No the chip will actually protect itself when it gets hot so if it still works should be cool
