i'm using dell inspiron with windows 7.from past few days my audio is not playing.it is showing "no speakers or head phones plugged in ".with a red cross on audio icon.
I installed the realtek audio drivers but it wont makes any change.please help me out.

Solution
The X normally = a driver issue or a hardware issue. type devmgmt.msc into the search bar and look for sound video and game controllers, and then right click the realtek audio and disable, wait until it finishes and then enable it again. unplug and then plug your speakers headphones whatever back into your front panel connector, if that doesn't work try using the back. If you still have problems do as I said above with the devmgmt.msc thing and disable everything in the audio tab but the realtek. If you still have problems you can always pick up a usb sound card for about 15 bucks.
