you can do SLI with different cards as long as they have the same GPU, meaning you can crossfire a gigabyte gtx 770 with a asus gtx 770... also note that though cards like the 760 are rebagded versions of older cards Nvidia rarely makes them SLI compatible... On the AMD side however they are more flexible when it comes to this, for example you can not do SLI with a gtx 760 and a gtx 670 even though they have the same GPU, but on the AMD side you can crossfire a R9 280X with a 7970 and a R9 270X can be crossfired with a 7870 ;D
