Hey everyone, thanks did taking the time to read this.

I am In search of a power supply for this system.

I5 3470
Gtx 760
Crucial m500 ssd
1tb western digital blue
2x4gb ram
1 pci wireless nic
And a DVD burner drive

Not looking to spend more than like... 65 usd and am definitely open to spending less!! Not tealky taking future upgrades into consideration and just trying to spend the least amount of money here but definitely don't want to buy a psu of poor quality. Thanks guys


Ps I had a rosewill hive 550w picked out. What do you think of that one

Rosewill HIVE series are okay for bang for buck, with nice modular cabling. But they do sacrifice by using lower quality capacitors & they aren't true wattage units i.e they are 100w less on the 12v rail than the overall advertised wattage, so in reality the 550W unit is a 450W.


In comparison , the XFX 550W linked above is more true rated, it uses better capacitors & outputs 528W on the 12v rail.

Not always, but the CXM series is at least better than the CX series.

Get the XFX, they are made by seasonic so it's good quality. :)
 


The CXM models are no better than the CX models quality-wise. The 430 to 600 Watt models are based on the same significantly upgraded CWT DSAII Series platform. They use a Matsushita/Panasonic UQ Series 400VDC 85°C primary capacitor and second tier 105°C CapXon or Jun-fu or Samxon or Teapo or a mix of those brands' capacitors on the secondary.
