How to capture BIOS messages?

this may be easy but I dunno. HP DC series: the current 'patient' is throwing a bunch of messages on full-boot, full messages from BIOS so I need to read/deal with them. HOw to capture? even though I'm on slow boot with full messaging, it all blows by in a flash and I can't read.

I bet there is a key or something that would halt the boot load

May seem a little old school but it might be possible to film it using a camera or decent phone if available and then play it back slowly? I'm not aware of a way to halt BIOS messages on the PC but if you use a camera it will allow you to pause it at least so you can read it! May seem like the long way around the problem but hope this helps :)
