Hi, i'm about to reinstall windows 7 on my computer, but i have 1 SSD and 1 hdd, i want windows 7 to be installed on the ssd, should i shut down my computer, pull out the SATA cable to the HDD, and then reinstall windows 7?

i'm just wondering if it will work, without "damaging" the HDD or the computer.

and if this works, should i plug out the power cable (to the HDD) or can i just plug out the SATA cable?

You can unplug or plug the SATA cable and/or power cable from a SATA drive while the computer is on and not worry about it. I do it all the time as I have a machine up and booted to get data or securely wipe drives.
