GTX 750 Ti with core 2 duo E8400

Would there be any problems using a Geforce Gtx 750 Ti with a Core 2 duo E8400? I have 305 Watt and now a PCI E 2.0 16x graphics card

It won't physically bottleneck the card, but it will bottleneck gaming, as you'll see frame drops a lot more often than with a stronger CPU. It would be a fine upgrade, and definitely give you good gaming performance, and will be usable even if you do upgrade the CPU/motherboard in the future.

305w is plenty for the 750 Ti, as your system will only be pulling around 125-150w at full system load.

Depends what you have now, but it will definitely give you great gaming performance. If you're fine with the frame drops during CPU-heavy parts then by all means :) And like I said, when you do upgrade your CPU/motherboard, the 750 Ti will still be a good card to have, so you won't have to buy another new GPU then also.
