Tech dummy here :( After determining that graphics performance, I researched and found advice to update driver. I read repeated advice that driver did not need to be removed prior to downloading new update. So I ran it and can't use computer except in safe mode (mouse frozen). I've since read on AMD site that yes, old driver needs to be removed prior to running update. I updated 14-4-win7-win8-win8.1-64-dd-ccc-whql.exe on and HP Pavillion g6 running windows 7 home premium.

I checked for a recent restore points but none exist. Any advice much appreciated. I'm hoping I can 'remove' downloaded driver but fear I'll need to do complete system restore. cj

Truth be told I've not uninstalled a AMD driver in over a year, just 'download and install over'.
If you've not deleted the AMD folders you should be able to roll back the drivers through Device Manager: Start>Control Panel>System and Security>System>Device Manager>double click on Display Adaptors then the adaptor then finally the 'Driver' tab in the window that opens and, finally 'Roll Back Driver'.

Whatever you do!!! Do not use the AMD clean uninstaller utility!!! It will remove your usb drivers if you are not careful. The only way to get back in is to use PS/2 ports to log back in.
