Hello. I have been using a Sony Bravia KDL-46BX450 HDTV as my main computer monitor (I use dual monitors) for over a year now. Until last week, when my computer went into sleep mode (a normal occurrence) and when I woke it back up, the Sony Bravia displayed "No Signal." The TV is connected to my computer via an HDMI cable attached to an HDMI to DVI adapter in order to connect to my computer's graphics card (Nvidia Geforce GTX580) which has two DVI ports. I have made sure the TV is set to the HDMI2 setting (since the HDMI cable is in the 2nd slot), tested the HDMI cable in another TV, bought a new DVI adapter, and tested the HDMI ports on the TV itself, and everything works by themselves but I still get "No Signal." For some reason the computer no longer recognizes the HDTV when I use this setup. Furthermore, I AM still able to use the HDTV as my monitor by simply using an old VGA cable with a VGA to DVI adapter that I had lying around rather than the HDMI/DVI setup, but the picture is not as clear and crisp as when I was using the HDMI. I have spent many hours attempting to fix this issue by changing settings in the TV itself, changing settings in my Nvidia Control Panel on the computer, changing settings in the Windows 7 "Screen Resolution" panel, even cleaning the graphics card and reinserting it. Sadly, nothing has worked.

One last piece of information is that the computer itself seems to think that the Sony Bravia is working just fine. When I try to troubleshoot the TV in the control panel, it says no problems are found. It also says all drivers are up to date and working properly. The weirdest part is that when I have the HDMI setup attached to my computer and it says "No Signal," when I go into the Windows 7 "Screen Resolution" panel it says that the TV is a "VGA Device" when in reality it is using HDMI/DVI (I remember that when the TV was working properly for the past year it specifically called it something like, "Sony Bravia HDTV," not "VGA Device"). Also, when the HDMI/DVI setup is plugged in and I have the computer set to dual monitors, I can move my mouse cursor from my smaller Acer monitor over to the Sony Bravia screen (I don't see anything other than "No Signal" but the cursor disappears and I can click and drag windows over to it).
