hullo...

I just replaced my motherboard and CPU in my stock HP Pavillion P7 1370t with an ASUS H61M-A/USB3 board and an i5 Quad core 2500. I am able to get into the BIOS and all the hardware changes are evident, but when trying to load windows, i constantly get "Reboot and select proper boot device." I started with optimal defaults: nothing. I made my Windows Boot Manager priority in EZ and advanced boot priority: nothing. I have switched the boot drive from SATA 1 to SATA 4: nothing. I havd only the monitor hooked up, along with my Logitech Unifying Receiver (keyboard and mouse). Before i swap the original motherboard back and keep the new CPU, i am asking for your help with the current situation.

thanks much,

Cpu swapping should be fine. But since you change the motherboard, you need a new window license. You cannot transfer your window licence just because you have it on the hard drive.
For the cpu. you just need to make sure the socket is 1155 else it is not compatible.
