I recently reinstalled my AMD drivers and also changed the location of my RAMDisks which contained my temporary file data from G: to J:. I changed all the directories too.

But the problem is that when I boot/restart in Windows 8. I get to the password screen, after I enter it takes 15 rotations to log in when it should be far fewer - I'm running off of a fast SSD. The screen usually stays black until I click the Windows key to go back and then go the the desktop manually. Before I used to get 'Sapphire Trixx cannot create tray icon' but after I uninstalled the program it still occurs, which leads me to believe it's something else. Any ideas? The windows home screen looks fine but it seems to boot straight to the desktop black screen!

Any ideas appreciated!

Thank you very much for the quick suggestion, I will try that!

I'm wondering if all previously installed programs will still be usable though!
I was in the process of creating a bootable Windows 8 USB to repair the system, would it be worth doing that in your opinion?

I have created a new user and in that after a reboot it still took 15 seconds on the 'Welcome' sign before booting into a 10 second black screen until it showed the default Windows 8 page. :(

I have reduced it to 9 rotations and the black screen no longer appears. I uninstalled my antivirus Malware Bytes Antimalware which was not working after I tested it. I also disabled 'Program' from my Startup which is probably the reminiscence of a previous program I uninstalled.
