The witcher 2 low fps with gtx 770 msi

Of ffs all the games i tried dont run more than 40 fps high or ultra 1440x900 and now this... i bough this shit for what saving an entire year for what 40 fps in the witcher 2? why why whyyy? i5 3350p 8 ram 1600mhz gtx 770 msi twin frozr what is wrong with this card did i need a gtx 780 ti instead?

Do you have ubersampling turned on? If so, try turning it off. Ubersampling aka Supersampling is an insanely demanding AA technique that effectively doubles the resolution that the GPU has to render, and as a result will cut your framerates in half compared to having it off. Also try turning off Vsync if you haven't already, as that can lead to lower framerates if your system can't deliver 60FPS as a minimum framerate.

You can also check your temperatures and things like GPU and CPU usage to make sure you're not running into thermal throttling, or some sort of bottleneck.

Apart of what SuperNova Above me said,its easy to understand that Witcher 2 is a great in the demand department of gaming!,how ever you can make sure you are running the latest Drivers for your GPU!,Tweaking the settings.ini file is another option aswell.

to tweak the Settings.ini you need to locate it *usually within Documents/Witcher2/*
and then locate and change the values to :[disable motion blur
disable vertical sync
change UberSampling=0 to UberSampling=1]

Its off so now am on high 100 fps and above but why i cant ultra? i mean the game is old it doesn't need a big cpu ti get maxed out my gpu is overkill for it the ram tho bad optimization? i don't think so so by the time of this game you will need 2x sli 600 series and i7 for ultra on 1080p?

You Do realize that supernova actually explained why, right?

Try sweetFX instead of ubersampling (its also AA but a lot lighter, but requires you to tweak it manually).
I use sweet FX on every single player game instead of other AA methoods.

The game is older, yes, but its still one of the most demanding titles around. Even with my 780ti classified i get just around 30fps maxed out at 1440p.
